The Ontario Golf Academy at Whistle Bear Golf Club is excited to announce the 2021 New Competitor Team – a specialized coaching and training program for golfers aged 9-13. This 10-month advanced training program will provide participants with the necessary skills and preparation to excel in competitive golf and advance to our flagship Advanced Development Team.
This program is designed for young golfers who are either playing or interested in playing competitive golf. We welcome any young golfer who is committed to improvement and being the best, they can be on and off the course. Athletes will receive weekly scheduled coaching and training sessions. The training is closely aligned with Golf Canada’s Long-Term Player Development Guide and will structure coaching and golf specific strength and conditioning activities to give each player the best chance to perform optimally in their most important golf tournaments.
The New Competitor Team is led by award winning "Class A" PGA Professional Cory Southon and his coaching staff. This dynamic program takes a holistic approach to coaching, meaning we oversee the entire developmental process of a golfer and not simply their swing mechanics. The program will consist of individual and group skills development training sessions, custom club fitting, mental skills training, on course coaching, tournament preparation and support, nutrition guidance and golf specific strength and conditioning from TPI certified instructors.
10 month coaching program for committed golfers aged 9-13
